in 1968 The Planet of the Apes was launched on the Big Screen. Inspired from the 1963 Planet of the Apes Novel by Pierre Boulle The Movie was a huge hit.
Starring Charleton Heston as Taylor, Roddy McDowall as Cornelius, Kim Hunter as Zira, and Linda Harrison as Nova.
The Movie Centered around a Lost Space Ship crew stranded in the future. a future that has seen the decline of humanity and the rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Since that time 6 more movies, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, Battle for the Planet of the Apes, Planet of the Apes the Cartoon, Planet of the Apes the Series (this was a show i wish they had expanded on it had so much potential) Planet of the Apes Comic Book ( I was a regular Subscriber).
In 2001 a Remake of Planet of the Apes Starring Mark Wahlberg was a lot of fun but it wasnt what I was hoping for. I felt it was a mix of the Original with touches of the TV series and Battle for the Planet of the Apes mixed in for good measure.
More recently the Rise of the Planet of the Apes follows the Traditional storyline in a much more believable way than its inspiration Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (which I thought as the worst of all the Apes)
I hope Planet of the Apes Fans will use this group to its full potential and help me to make it a Place for all things Ape and please remember
"Beware the beast man, for he alone is the harbinger of death"

the new one Rise of the planet of the Apes is a true remake of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. it sets the stage in a big way for a True Remake of the Original Planet of the Apes.
